Duncan, Raumakita and Vakalutukali make UKAF Debut
Head Coach, Lee Soper, has named a strong side to play France in the semi final of IDRC 2019 and has handed a UKAF debut to three more players in Royal Navy Rugby Union fullback, Craig Duncan, RNRU centre Seta Raumakita and RNRU flanker Ratu Vakalutukali.
It is an all Navy back three with Duncan being joined by Ben Chambers and Brad Janes on the wing. Janes' move to the wing makes room for Seta to play at inside centre, forming a powerful centre partnership with the Army's Ravi Fatiaki. The Army's James Dixon and Navy's Gareth Rees continue their halfback partnership.
Up front Ben Priddey (Navy) is chosen at hooker with the Army providing both props, Gareth Smith and Ken Downing. Behind them it is an Army Navy combination at lock with Ross Parkins being joined by Scott Makepeace whilst UKAF Captain, Jamie Miller, leads the backrow from Number 8, with Vatakutukali at Blindside and the Army's Matt Dawson on the Openside.
On the bench Lee has named a 6 - 2 split with only two backs in Nathan Huntley and Connor O'Reilly. The forwards are Stu Philpott, Matt Harris, Dave Manning to vcover the front row, Rob Heath as replacement lock and Stu Cross and Edd Pascoe who can both play lock or backrow.
